Before product design I spent a decade making physical things and shooting. It's not what I do today, but it's where the judgment came from — and where most of the awards live.

Product work

Industrial Design

2016 — 2021

Ceramics, furniture and objects. This is where I learned that a good idea still has to survive a material, a process and a budget — the same discipline I apply to products now.

TOMA 2
TOMA 2Ceramic drinking-game set · FORMA winner, Design Week México 2018

The FORMA brief, run by Cerámica La Mejor with Design Week México, was to design a piece representing happiness in Mexico City. We took la pirinola — the spinning top every Mexican kid grew up with — and turned its rules into a drinking game: TOMA 1, TOMA 2, TODOS TOMAN. The glass silhouette echoes the shape and the spin. Co-designed with Erandy Saraí Jurado.

  • Ceramic, matte black-and-white glaze
  • Matte enamel details in pink, blue and yellow
  • Liquor jar 180 × 180 mm · glass 110 × 60 mm
  • Set of 2 glasses + 1 liquor jar
Funded on Kickstarter — 25 backers, 142% of goal
LA OLA MEXICANA
LA OLA MEXICANACeramic wall hanger · FORMA winner, Design Week México 2018

The second piece for the same FORMA brief. Where TOMA 2 took a childhood game, this one took the wave that runs through a Mexican stadium — the coordinated, collective, briefly euphoric moment. Three silhouettes stand for the three phases of the movement, each a character whose raised arms are what you hang your coat on. Co-designed with Erandy Saraí Jurado.

  • Ceramic, matte enamel in black, white, blue, green and pink
  • 150 × 91 × 78 mm
  • Sold as a set of 3 pieces
Funded on Kickstarter — 29 backers, 128% of goal

Molcajete María
Molcajete MaríaPackaging redesign — Pack Lab, 2nd place

A redesign of the packaging for Doña María mole en pasta that keeps the brand's roots intact while giving the product a contemporary image. The silhouette quotes the molcajete and the metate — the stone tools mole was originally ground on — so the container carries the method, not just the logo. Like the packaging it replaces, it's designed for a second life: once the mole is gone, the vessel stays in the kitchen.

  • Mole en pasta, Doña María
  • Molcajete-and-metate silhouette
  • Talavera-pattern lid over a textured stone body
  • Designed for reuse after the product runs out

2011 — 2021

Shooting, directing and editing — from social events and sports to brand campaigns. It's where the framing instinct comes from, and it still shapes how I show work.
